Igbo elders asked President Buhari to release Kanu and other

Biafra agitators – They reiterated their commitment towards one Nigeria – The elders called for the outlaw of herdsmen grazing in

Igboland Igbo leaders have begged President Muhammadu Buhari to

release Nnamdi Kanu and other persons it described as

prisoners of conscience. Kanu and other pro-Biafra agitators were arrested and have

commitment to one at the World Igbo Summit Group in

collaboration with the Igbo Renaissance Centre of the Gregory

University, Uturu with Sen. Ike Nwachukwu as the chairman. The group released a 10-point communiqué calling for the

release of Kanu and other detainees “since they do not

constitute a threat to national security.” It said the Igbo nation was ready to work for a united Nigeria

where “Ndigbo would live and operate as equal citizens,

without any discrimination, bias or intimidation.” Chief Sam Ohuabunwa who is the co-chairman noted that

“Ndigbo have made the biggest sacrifice and contributions to

legislation that will outlaw nomadic cattle grazing in the

country. It specifically voted “against all forms of open grazing in

Igboland” as the activities of suspected herdsmen pose great
