The Nigerian government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has graduated to a whole new level in their desperate bid to tag IPOB and Niger Delta Avengers as terrorist organisations, as well as desperate moves to blackmail Nnamdi Kanu and other high profile opposition politicians in the country, Family Writers intelligence source claims.
A reliable source close to Aso Rock has revealed to Family Writers that the federal government has spent not less than N50billion in the past few months based on their alliance with MEND and media houses to tarnish the image of IPOB, Niger Delta Avengers and staunch opposition politicians, including the immediate past President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
It would be recalled that last month, Buhari's government announced that there is an ongoing talks between his administration and the Niger Delta activists- a claim the Niger Delta Avengers vehemently denied of its existence. Meanwhile, few weeks later on July 30, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), a former militant group in the oil rich region of Biafra land released a Press statement claiming that they have finalised negotiations with the Nigerian government on behalf of the activists in the region and which will see to the release of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPO leader, Nnamdi Kanu on the sole condition that he renounces Biafra. The statement signed by MEND'S spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo reads in part.
“The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) is the only militant group from the Niger Delta region who are presently engaged in a dialogue with the Federal Government of Nigeria – through oil companies and security agencies -with a view to resolving the current Niger Delta crisis.” “Thus far, the deliberations have been fruitful, various concessions and guarantees have already been secured. Some of which include, but are not limited to: Release of Henry Okah, Charles Okah and Obi Nwabueze; Review of the life sentence handed to Mr. Edmund Ebiware based on a proposal put forward by the Aaron Team representative for Abia and Imo states, Senator Adolphus Wabara. “Also, conditional release of IPOB leader, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and others if they renounce their agitation for a “Biafra Republic.
“However, one of the most immediate and urgent fallout of the ongoing dialogue is the imperative for the Federal Government and MEND to jointly and separately take proactive steps to rescue and secure the region. This is in the event that the recalcitrant Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) continuing on its senseless and politically-motivated path of attacks on the country’s oil assets,
“To this end, both parties agreed that the Special Forces of the Nigerian Army should commence the purely routine but strategic military exercise code-named “Operation Crocodile Tears”; while MEND would commence a meet-the Government-Actors-and-People tour of the Niger Delta region code-named “Operation Moses” the Press statement by MEND reads.
In response to MEND, IPOB and Niger Delta Avengers in their respective Press statements noted that the activities of MEND has already been polluted and defiled by their criminal activities which they hide under the guise of activism. IPOB and NDA lambasted the group for their fraudulent activities and accused them of sabotaging the interest of the region and that of the people, even as they declared no going back on the total emancipation of the entirety of Biafra land.
Nevertheless, the drama took a sudden twist as less than a week after MEND's claim of negotiating with the federal government, a new group that calls itself Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA) sprang up and claimed to be a splinter faction of Niger Delta Avengers. In their first official Press statement released on the late hours of August 5, RNDA which has Cynthia Whyte as its leader and spokesperson pledged allegiance to MEND and the Buhari led administration. They however declared war on Niger Delta Avengers and IPOB if they do renounce their agitations and join them in their alliance with the Nigerian government.
"the government of President Buhari has exhibited political will and backing words with action to clean up the environment, we have decided to join the MEND Aaron Team 2 peace initiative through the clearing house of Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group (NDDCG) headed by HRH King Alfred Diette-Spiff,” the group said. It asserted: “ We will also cooperate with the government by exposing the identities of our comrades, who remain stubborn in their insistence to continue attacks. For example, it will shock the nation to know the Jekyll and Hyde personality behind the pseudonym ‘Brigadier General Murdoch Agbinibo’ and our sponsors.” “It added: “We also use this opportunity to call on the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to take advantage of the olive branch concession secured by MEND and renounce the Biafra question which is an anachronism.
“Those advising Mr. Nnamdi Kanu to do otherwise neither love him nor appreciate the level of treason this simple act of common sense and humility can extricate him from,
“ The Niger Delta will no longer be your proxy war to achieve your ambition. To our comrades in the NDA, we urge you to stop being defiant and embrace peace and the wise counsel we all received from former President Jonathan.” RNDA stated.
Meanwhile On the eve of August 6, RNDA released another bombshell statement in which they listed the names of those they alleged are the sponsors of Niger Delta Avengers. The list which was first published by Sahara Reporters, a pirate media outlet based in US has IPOB, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and other notable opposition politicians in the country such as Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Seriaki Dickson of Bayelsa, Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, ex-militant turned contractor, Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo), Raymond Dokpesi, the founder of African Independent Television (AIT), Kingsley Kuku, Kimi Angozi, and Patrick Akpobolokemi as other sponsors.
The names released by RNDA has generated a lot of controversy across Nigeria as many are of the opinion that RNDA is a state sponsored group whose objectives are aimed at disorganising the cohesion of Niger Delta Avengers, whose activities has crippled Nigeria's oil production, as well as denting the image of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu and opposition politicians in the country.
Meanwhile the Niger Delta Avengers, reacting to the assertion of RNDA as being its splinter faction, denied ever having anything to do with any member of RNDA. The counter-statement which was signed by the spokesperson of Niger Delta Avengers Brig. Gen Mudoch Agbinibo and published on the group's official website maintained that their leadership and organisational structures remains more unshakeable than it has ever been, even as they warned the general public that RNDA is a subsidiary of MEND.
"The public and all sane minds should know that the entire household of the Niger Delta Avengers remain intact, we are in good spirit with highest morals and even more dedicated toget the ultimate targets. We are not like the present Nigeria government, military and security agencies that have thrown intelligence to the dustbin and are being pushed around by dirty moral and egos of political thugs, criminals and illegal crude oil bunkerers like Boyloaf, Timipre Silva, Ayiri Emami, and their main collaborator Mr. Lawal Daura (DG DSS).
''It is quite unfortunate that, Cynthia Whyte and Jomo Gbomo of defunct Joint Revolutionary Council and MEND respectively are the spokesperson of the Nigerian intelligentsia community because of some political interest and a government that have abdicated powers to clansmen and tribal lords.
''The fact checks about Cynthia Whyte AKA George Karley and his sponsors should be laid bare before the public now that the Nigerian security and intelligent community has turned the Niger Delta genuine struggle to a tool of political patronage and money making machine for miscreants and conflict merchants. The name Cynthai Whyte was the negotiation organ for Mr. Victor Ebikabowei Ben (Boyloaf), Former governor Timipre Silva and Sele Ebikabowei for settlements in kidnappings, bank robberies, illegal crude oil bunkering and dirty jobs for government. Like sending of Sele Ebikabowei to South Africa to testify against Henry Okah, back at home against Charles Okah and Edmund Ebiwari after collecting huge bribes. So we are not surprised for this so-called MEND speaking under Victor Ebikabowei Ben (Boyloaf) to introduce his complete house to collect more patronages in their desperation.
''We warned the world and Nigerians earlier, especially the Barr. Odein Ajumogobias, the Judith Asunis and HRM, Majesty King Alfred Diette Spiffs to think before they leap with characters using a compromised platform called MEND that is sold and bought up by special interests of the Nigerian Security agencies that are working for this APC government of lies and deceits.'' Avengers warned.
Family Writers Intelligence source close to Aso Rock revealed that the Nigerian government is working ceaselessly with MEND to unmask Niger Delta Avengers and those behind the freedom fighters, which was responsible for the renewal of the amnesty programme earlier scrapped by Buhari's administration, as well as the recent awarding of N36billion pipeline protection contract to MEND.
"The fg is really desperate to undo the Niger Delta Avengers because they are severely feeling the heat of their activities" the source said.
"As a result, they have entered into alliance with MEND and some media houses in the country to blackmail the activists and tag them as a terrorist organisation.
"Same goes with IPOB whose leader the government is yet to find veritable evidences to justify the treason charges leveled against him. Having seen that IPOB has declared their total support to NDA, The Nigerian government will be using the already compromised MEND to fight and blackmail both parties" the source stated.
Going further, the intelligence officer also revealed the origin and purpose of the newly emerged RNDA-
"RNDA is a group formed by MEND to dent the image of Niger Delta Avengers, IPOB and politicians mentioned in the list they recently released.
"Their recent move of inventing unfathomable propaganda against IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu and Avengers may just be the starting point of executing their operations, because MEND themselves are desperate to prove a point to the fg and justify the billions of Naira that has been lavished on them so far by Buhari's government" the source revealed.

Continued Detention Of Nnamdi Kanu: The War Will Probably Start From The Barracks - Top Military Officer.
With the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the tide is slowly changing because patience is fading away. The survey conducted by Biafra Reporters accurately shows that in Nigeria there is gross sense of division and in Biafra there is ill-feeling because people of Biafra feel with the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, they are treated as nobody despite the calls they have made even to the point of giving their lives away.

The continued massacre of unarmed Biafra agitators seems to have been the major factor driving the impending dooms. While the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu could be a spark plug and time is becoming detrimental.

When Nnamdi Kanu was initially arrested; there was opposing views, some persons in Biafra seem to support the arrest while others were against it. The cultural group Ohaneze Ndi Igbo was at the centre of controversies while some leaders in Biafra were also not positive but with his continued detention, everything is quickly changing. Ohaneze are today shouting that things will get out of hand if his detention is not called off. Leaders are now talking that their son should be released and everybody seems to have come together and now speaking with one voice.

There is a sudden change due to sympathy and conscience; there is an awakening for Nnamdi Kanu due to his continued detention. From militants to common or law-abiding men; military to civilians and political leaders to tribal leaders, everybody is responding to his continued detention. The officer posited.

The top military officer who spoke to Ifeanyi Chijioke on the condition of anonymity has expressed his fears over what he termed ‘Biafra sentiment in the barracks’. The sentiment which started as a result of continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu seems to be significant in army barracks and should this get out of hand, there would be a military revolution that would not only divide Nigeria but destroy lives.

The survey which shows that Nigeria has already been divide with 100% Biafrans and 60% liberals siding Nnamdi Kanu in what could as well be as a result of his continued detention while 80% Northern people and 40% liberals backed Buhari. The survey could not be successful in the Barracks as there was fear and issue of trust to have soldiers speak on Biafra. They were majorly of the belief that talking to journalists could be self destructive.

According to the top military officer, he is very much certain that if Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention is not called off; the military commanders could lose control of the boys. He noted that the continued detention of Kanu is whipping up unnecessary sentiment though he said soldiers are very careful with the sentiment. He noted that there is now a feeling in the barrack that the Northern soldiers are the big boys in the barrack while the Eastern and Western soldiers are less effective. He also said that the division is now everywhere and the everyday issue of Kanu’s detention is becoming a negative factor. “The spark plug, Nnamdi Kanu is the spark plug and we have to remove him to save the day” he quoted and continued.

If Nnamdi Kanu is released; he can keep talking about Biafra but there won’t be any reason to feel bad or anything that would activate sense of division. Nnamdi Kanu can be released, he can continue talking about Biafra while the President keeps delaying referendum or opposing that in a civil way. With this there won’t be sympathy for anyone, there won’t be ill feeling and the game would be fair. Nnamdi Kanu is asking for Biafra but the President doesn’t seem to buy that idea; that will be the state if Kanu is released or was not arrested at all.

Following the press conference earlier today by our legal team, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPO Worldwide has been reliably and incontrovertibly informed that some of the utterances of their defence lawyers were made without consultation. These utterances border on negotiations and some were against the Niger Delta Avengers. As as a result of this unsolicited and unguarded utterances, the defence team has been sacked and will be replaced. The IPOB leader wishes to state categorically that the only thing we are open to is negotiations that will lead to modalities and processes to restore Biafra and avert further hardships on the people of Nigeria who have been under bondage since his kidnapping and illegal detention.

The Niger Delta Avengers arose because of the inherent injustice in Nigeria as manifested in the disregard to the rule of law when Buhari refused to obey court order to unconditionally release our leader, Nnamdi Kanu. We spoke the mind of our leader when we stated for record purposes that IPOB and Niger Delta Avengers share the same ideology of freedom for Biafra. Anybody publicly dissociating IPOB from Niger Delta Avengers is a mortal enemy of IPOB family worldwide under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu. Let it be known that as long as Buhari and Daura continue to tamper with Nnamdi Kanu‘s defence team through bribery, inducements and intimidation, IPOB will keep on changing the team.

For the records, the press conference by the now-sacked legal team was about bringing to public knowledge the foolishness of the Department of State Services (DSS) in bringing treasonable felony charges against our leader and the lack of evidence thereof. The press conference was NEVER about negotiations because should negotiations start, IPOB will notify the world about it. Right now, we are not negotiating and will not negotiate until existing court orders ordering the release of Nnamdi Kanu are obeyed.
