IS FORMER PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CURRENT ECONOMIC RECESSION IN NIGERIA?
My attention has been drawn to a publication going round the social media accusing former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the architect of the current economic recession in Nigeria. These lying liars cited some alleged looting during GEJ as the fundamental factor that plugged Nigeria into recession.
Inasmuch as I wouldn't want to join issues with these liars and propagandists but for clarity purpose, it is important for us to put some facts and records straight.
First, any government that lie to her people hardly progress. In 2015 during presidential campaign, some certified social media rhetoricians packaged poison, lies and deception in a chocolate pack and sold to Nigerians by deceiving them that President Mohammed Buhari and his party, APC, are saviours and God sent to Nigeria. Little did we know that we were eating poison and deception.
Second, for a nation to go into recession, there must be some missteps and failures from the government. Nearly 8 months after president Buhari took over power, he blatantly refused to constitute his government on a pretense that he was searching for capable hands and finally when the cabinet was constituted, the same people who looted Nigeria's treasury alongside GEJ were appointed as ministers and advisers. One can imagine likes of Babatunde Fashola who used over 75 million naira to service his personal website, Chibuike Amechi who looted River state to zero, Lying Liar Mohammed, a certified liar, to mention a few.
Third, when portfolios were assigned to these ministers, the case became a square peg on a round hole. Finance minister- a polytechnic graduate from the lowest ranked polytechnic in UK, Minister of power- a lawyer, Minister of Labour- a medical doctor, Minister of Agriculture- an economist, Minister of Transport- studied English, Minister of Information- a lying liar. Then why won't Nigeria be plugged into recession when square pegs were meant to fit in a round hole. Why won't Nigeria be in economic recession and serious security threat when the information minister is a certified liar.
During GEJ's administration there was an alleged mass looting according to media trial, but the nation was not plugged into recession for his 6 years of leadership but just 2 years of clueless Buhari's government everything now turned bad.
Today, this same group of liars who sold Buhari to us in 2015 have packaged another poisonous lies and deception to make us believe that the recession they plugged us into was as a result of the alleged mass looting during GEJ. Unfortunately, their poisonous lies cannot scale through this time around. Nigerians are now two years wiser than before. We know their ability and capability. In fact, the alleged looting during GEJ was nothing compared to the looting of late Gen. Sanni Abacha and Gen. Ibrahim Babangida regimes yet, Nigeria did not go into recession during their successive governments. Late Gen. Abacha looted Nigeria to near zero but the economic development during former president Olusegun Obasanjo is a vindication that the so- called looting during GEJ will not plug Nigeria into recession.
Let's even deal with facts. Fact no1: the so- called looters under GEJ are still under judiciary investigation. All what we have and rely upon are the media trials and convictions which is nothing but poison. Fact no2: president Buhari and his lying information minister, Lying Liar Mohammed, have engaged another social media liars to use the alleged looting during GEJ as a cover- up to their cluelessness and wickedness. The foul- breathed and pamper wearing Lying Liar Mohammed told the world recently that Nigeria is not in any economic recession and that Fulani terrorists organization is non- existent in Nigeria. What a lie!
They lied and deceived us in 2015, now they are on it again. But they failed to realize that Nigerians are now two years wiser than before. After all, once bitten twice death.
Those who bought and consumed APC poison in 2015 are now crying foul. They wished they could turn back the hand of clock. Some bought the poison out of parochialism and myopicness while others bought the poison out of ignorance and deception. But one good thing about the law of karma is that it does not allow one to escape justice but one bad thing about law of karma is that it does not take ignorance as an excuse. All of us are currently living to what CHANGE government brought to us- hunger, disease, extreme poverty, insecurity and death.
In the end, shifting Buhari's blame for plugging Nigeria into recession to GEJ is a pure demonstration of bad faith and self deception. Buhari's government is a clear replicae of a failed government.
