Hausa Leader, Sambo Reveals Why Enugu State Is Prone To Fulani Herdsmen Attacks

The leader of Hausa Community in Enugu State, Alhaji Abubakar Sambo, has revealed why the state is prone to attacks from Fulani herdsmen.

Speaking in Enugu, over the weekend, Sambo explained that the state was prone to attacks because it was a gateway to and from the northern part of the country.

Sambo, who is a member of the state’s Security Committee, said, ”Enugu State is witnessing the spate of herdsmen attack because it is a major gateway to and from the northern part of the country, where these herdsmen come from to the south-east and south-south regions.

“Before you access any part of the south-east or south-south, you must pass through Enugu. There are many routes which the herdsmen used to connect the state.

“Some of them come in through Kogi State-Uzo Uwani local government area of Enugu State. That was the route the herdsmen that attacked Nimbo used.

“Other routes are Obollor-afor in Nsukka, Orakamu through Benue to Enugu, Aghamelumu-Nsukka route, among other routes. The herdsmen ply these routes to any part of the south-east and south-south.

“Most of them that are migrant herdsmen decided to settle in some rural communities in Enugu State while on transit. This scenario is what I think, made Enugu prone to incessant herdsmen clashes”.

The state had recently become prone to onslaughts from Fulani herdsmen, who have killed several people, while destroying properties.

Recently over 50 Fulani Herdsmen armed with machetes slaughtered a Catholic Seminarian, Lazarus Nwafor in Ndiagu, Attakwu, Akegbe-Ugwu in Nkanu-West Local Government Area of the State.

Failure To Support Biafra, Our Greatest Mistake - Asari Dokubo Blows Hot

This article is culled from Asari Dokubo's speech during one of the gatherings of Ndigbo, Urhobos and people of the Niger Delta few years back where 'BIAFRA' was comprehensively discussed and Asari Dokubo just as always spoke out fearlessly and passionately. Read below the heartrending speech made by the great warrior and be inspired.

"Today, if anything will stir me to fight, it is my belief that Biafra was right. When I was growing up, we were told a lot of things to hate Biafra. Maybe some of us were persuaded. But the more I grew up, the more I realize that it was the greatest mistake we made for not allowing Biafra to stand".

"You might not feel the pain that I feel, but if an Igbo man does not feel the pain that I feel, I am sorry for him, if an Urhobo man doesn't feel the pain, I am sorry for him".

"What Ojukwu lived and died for, in the coming years, we will see it with our eyes because of the arrogance of a few people that were born to rule...."For the first time in history, the divide and rule tactics of those who have kept us down failed and the Igbo voted more for president Jonathan than the people of the South South".

"Our gathering today is to bring the gathering of the dispossessed and oppressed people of the middle Belt. Ndigbo people and the people of the Niger Delta together and we are going to move like a force".
