THE COMBINED THOUGHT OF THE FEDERALIST AND THE PROPONENT OF RULE OF LAW ON FISCAL FEDERALISM !

Fiscal federalism entails devolution of power amongst component units of a federation.Otherwise it is a delegation of appreciable level of economic responsibility and corresponding political power to quasi-independent regions of a given country to effectively carry out their obligation without legal bottleneck.In a system of fiscal federalism the central government becomes weaker with a delimited scope of jurisdiction which constitutionally points toward engagement in foreign relations,protection of territorial integrity among others.Whilst the federating units occupy themselves with matters of internal affairs,such as regional security,economic initiative and development,political education of the citizenry,as the clear-cut residual power and exclusive list of the respective tiers of government not only make for wider outreach of political participation but foster equitable distribution of national wealth and income across population of the federation.And above all fiscal federalism expedites diverse regional economic growth and industrialisation.Then it is at the stage of exploitation of natural resources and the attendant socio-economic boom,however the central government is mandated by federal law to tax the subordinate regions according to their individual strength of fiscal and economic production,to this effect,royalty is paid to the coffers of the federal government.Hence,the imposition of tax is the major source of revenue generation of the government at the centre.To sum up my thought on this subject,it is pertinent to point out that Nigeria is a pseudo-federation,that is "quasi-federalism".And it is of no value and never the ideal system.

THE SOUTHERN CROOKED DELEGATES ARE THE CAUSE OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC SUBJUGATION AND EXTREME POVERTY IN THE REGION.IT IS SELF-EVIDENT THAT THEY HAVE SOLD OUT TO THE NORTHENERS !

Nigerians in the south have wittingly or unwittingly turned themselves to puppets and crybabies in the hands of northern hegemons who know what it means to unite and play sectarian politics by default.Therefore,the north is not to blame for the south's politics of individuality and aloofness.Suffice it to say that in most cases the maginalisation meted out to the southerners by the northerners is preventable.But,out of self-aggrandisement,our so called representatives purposedly allow this woes to continue befalling the generality of the downtrodden masses in the south.It is on this note,we the constituents should either recall these self-serving representatives or call them to order,because they have indeed become moles rather than representatives of their people.Whining is not helping the matter,and Nigeria won't get better if we let it be either.

THE RENEWED FACEOFF BETWEEN ICC AND CORRUPT AFRICAN LEADERS...

"If you cannot serve the time,don't commit the crime"

Obviously,these corrupt African leaders are merely being evasive and paranoid due to their excesses and malfeasance while in government.As the leaders of African countries that are signatories to ICC,however for no just reason now opting to quit the said International Criminal Court which indeed are performing its oversight jurisdiction to tame war criminals and corruption across the world,I suggest that these deviant African leaders should also withdraw their membership from all international donor bodies that they all frequently run to when in need to beg for grant and aide,since they are running away from international law enforcement agencies,in the same vein they should forfeit all benefits accrued from international donor agencies.As such move will perhaps guarantee them that absolute independence.You cannot be feasting on others,yet expect absolute independence of them.All relationship ought to be mutual to be fair.But,in the case of Africa it is so dependent on other progressive continents to the point her leaders have completely lacked initiative and bearing in all ramifications.I rest my case here,the world is a global village,therefore African leaders must abide by the international law and best practices to get things right.And let it be known that ICC is there to protect the citizens of member nations,especially where the indigenous judiciary is mere appendage to the corrupt system.It is painful to note that African leaders don't create wealth but squander wealth copiously.I guess we want this flagrant graft and impunity to be tackled squarely,and have such insanity ended soon.

The way most pastors twist the interpretation of bible to suit their whims has rather pushed the flock away from God instead of wooing them.It is now left to the real born-again christians to resort to their conscience and study the bible in their closets.I believe that is how these fake pastors and prophets could be checked.

A BRIEF LOOK INTO THE CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CITIZENS UNDER BAD GOVERNMENT LIKE OURS :

When a government makes a pledge then fails to redeem it.The rational idea in that case is to mount pressure on the erring government for prompture,owing to the fact it is the civic duty and responsibility of the citizens to take necessary and immediate action to call errant government to order.Again,in a situation the concerned citizens fail as well to perform their regulatory role of check and balance on the government,however the citizens are to blame for nondevelopment of their country.The truth is that Nigerian citizens are unusually docile,sychophantic and malleable.And nothing is going to positively change as it were.It is high time we stopped whining like sick babies and started matching down en masse on all the streets in every nook and cranny of this God forsaken country called Nigeria.At this juncture,it is widely expected that the host of poor Nigerians should be sick and tired of misrule and the attendant consequence,otherwise the abject poverty wrecking havoc in the land today.But,it beats imagination that the said Nigerians are this cowardly and lethargic despite having every reason to react and put things in proper perceptive.

If it were in ideal democracy,Nigerian electorates are not supposed to allow the elected politicians to toil with their mandate and dictate how the citizens should think,whereas the said citizens should be the bosses that send the so called elected politicians on errand to deliver as and when due.Of course,in the sane climes,leaders are answerable to the citizens,but the reverse is the case in Nigeria.
