_Sabbath School Summary_
*Jesus Desired Their Good*
_Lesson 7_
_Memory Text: Matthew 23:37_

*SATURDAY*: The authorities of a community built a skateboard park for the youth, with the aim of checking youth crime rate which was rising. They later called for a church on the premises to help shape the morals of youth, but only a local Seventh-Day Adventist church accepted their invitation. The local church’s definition of “church” is a community that does not exist for itself. This definition is what every church must adopt.

*SUNDAY*: The glory of God's grace was revealed among the Ninevites through the prophetic words of Jonah (Jonah 3:4-4). But Jonah instead of been the first to rejoice got angry for the fact that he might be called a false prophet. Unlike Jonah, Jesus selfless act was made clear about the city of Jerusalem (Luke 19:38-42). Jesus desired the good of the city, so must we hope for the good of the lost, not for the worst like Jonah.

*MONDAY*: God pleas with us to do good "heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men". It might not seem right, but we should do it "anyway". Jesus cleanses an outcast leper and reconciles Peter to Himself after he betrayed Him anyway (Matt. 8:1-4, Jn. 18, 21). The Corinth church was ungrateful to Paul but He served them anyway ( 2 Cor. 12:14, 15). We should apply the golden rule to our lives (Matt. 7:12, 5:43-47, Luke 6:27, 35; 23:34. ).

*TUESDAY*: Jesus summed up the commandments into two; love to God and love to neighbours. He states that our neighbour is anyone we meet who needs our help. His exemplary life testifies to the true love which never fails (Luke 10:27-37, 1 Jn. 4:16). The lives of many professed Christians has turned off myriads of souls away from God (Dan. 7:24, 25, Rom 2:24). Our first duty is to reveal God's love to others (1 Cor. 13).

*WEDNESDAY*: The healing of the blind in Bethsaida was in two phases, probably because of the blindness of the disciples (Mark 8:22-25, 15, 18). Jesus' first touch restored his sight partially until the second touch that restored him wholly. Similarly, it could be that after Jesus gives us spiritual sight, we might not see clearly until the second touch. We're prone to push people away from the church if we still see real people as "trees".

*THURSDAY*: Christ came not to be served but to serve (Phil. 2:1-5). The church is His heart and hands on earth and we must have this humble spirit. He helped people on His way to pursue a different agenda (Mark 5:21-43). The church also may have to put aside their agendas sometime to help others. Unlike the church in the park, one church fed up due to no baptism whilst the other feared their items might be damaged by invitees.

*FRIDAY*: The precious truth that God has given to us should not be confined to our church, but to all classes of people. In the Gospel story we have a record of how Jesus labored for all classes of people, moving from place to place that the good news might fell upon every ear. He ministered to all sin-sick soul with what He had. Similarly, the church should not only preach the word, but also give out physical help when it matters. (See James 2:14-17).

Agwu Deity for medicine and divination Agwu deity is associated with a cultural spin on medicine and divination skills. Etymologically, the word agwu is a name of a given deity for medicine and divination. Agwu by itself is derived from Agwa, “manner or behaviour”. Specifically, Agwu refers to the major deity or god-head of medicine and divination (Chi ogwu). Its symbol is a doll-like human being made of wood or covered with clay, also called Agwunsi. Agwu is believed to be the ally of men or women determining their destiny and life skills. It is a god of care who directs human affairs while navigating the world. One's Chi or tutelary god is often regarded as the same as one's Agwu. Affliction of certain illnesses and healing are primarily associated with Agwu. Therefore, Agwu pertains to the domain of morality and continuity of tradition of caring skills. A family with a record of healing art
is likely to continue this tradition. The god of
medicine and divination, Agwu, will intrude
upon a family member in order to transfer to
him or her, the divinatory seeing (visionary
power) and healing skills. This is also known as clairvoyance dimension. In the event of
refusal, this deity is responsible for pattern
of illness or misfortune called ara Agwu
(deific insanity). The intent of which is
temporarily to give time for a rethink to
accept a calling to assume a traditional responsibility to discover sources of affliction
and to heal them. It can only endure in the
case of total arrogance or negligence to listen
and accept cultural obligahem. It can only
endure in the case of total arrogance or
negligence to listen and accept cultural obligation for health and healing. Broadly, ara Agwu or deital-force
related mental episode is mostly a
portentous or forewarning insanity and
remains to be the kind of ara (insanity) which
is mostly misunderstood and
misrepresented. For example, while some people say ara Agwu is a devilish
harassment of human, others note the deity
to be nothing good than being spirit of
madness. Those who interpret Agwu from an
overtly Christian perspective tend to depict
this over-excitation in very negative terms. In order to be a healer one need not go
through ara Agwu or deital insanity. Rather
the affliction is a punishment given to those
who refuse to yield to their election into
healing. My informants kept saying that it
appears in one's dreams, to call up the person to take up the ancestral healing
tradition. A cultural lore, reinforcing this
view, states that, “agwu selects with whom
to work” (Agwu na-awa awa). Informants
maintain that it is a very good spirit, which
sees to the goodness of people and never fails in healing specific afflictions (oria). But it
may also afflict the wrongdoers as a way to
punish them and exercise its authority
without further question. It is said Agwu
does not approach just anyone but expects
those approached to reciprocate their call with respect and on time too. Put differently, Agwu has two faces at
the same time, the good and the bad. The
good is for the innocent and well behaved. It
is called, mma Agwu evoking good (its health
and progress). The other side is evil, and is
referred to as njo agwu. Those misrepresenting Agwu such as bad healers
or offenders are punished severely by
Agwu. The double-edged sword of Agwu
(mma ihu abua) does not fixedly make
someone prone to penalty if he or she does
not behave according to its disciplinary measures, such as when a healer is: (i) not
charging too much money in cases which do
not allow it; (ii) preparing medicines
according to its directives; (iii) listening and
carrying out appropriate instructions; (iv)
avoiding certain prohibitions, such as not using one’s healing power unduly against
others; (v) not sleeping with one's patient/s,
or taking other people's wife or husband; (vi)
not going to sleep with a woman during her
menstrual period; (vii) avoiding certain
places like funerals of people whose behaviour in society are questionable; (viii)
not defying healing objects with unwashed
hands, or petitioning to it with inappropriate
rites or its neglect at all; (ix) being stingy
instead of showing compassionate, liberal
hands. But one is liable and punished at any contravention that occurs in order to guide
against any wrong potentially hampering
healthy relationships and environment to
come about. Ara agwu, or its mental affliction, may also besiege someone who willfully
breaks or destroys any of its cultic
resources. The Agwu shrine is found with
statuettes in the home of any healer and in
many of the patients’ houses. In cases
where such shrine items are rebelliously being destroyed or burnt, Agwu inflicts
untold hardships to the family. It can trigger
insanity as well as other forms of
misfortune, such as accidents, untimely
deaths, loss of money or goods, and social
isolation. It can give people troubles that might even lead to their imprisonment, or
that bring entire failure if one would choose
to oppose to the calling for the role of diviner
or healer. For a healer to become truly
immersed into the dynamics of healing
knowledge and strategies, initiation to the cult of Agwu is a cultural duty and essential
for the start of the process of learning and
applying the skills with due protection in the
ecological perspective. The following then
will explore and describe how this is carried
out to attain the underlying aims.

When you hear the word 'RITUAL' what comes to your mind as a christian?
Nolly-wood has given this word another meaning, surprisingly 90% of nigeria christians do not know the dictionary meaning of this word, quote me wrong

nobody is born naturaly with any language, the language you speak is the language you were thought in this life and would oneday leave it behind as you pass to the other side,
Language as an abstract concept doesn't exist in dogs yet when trained dogs tend to interpret human languages using there brain.
If a baby is born, kept isolated from people, not even the mother should ever talk to the baby while nursing him, television or radio is not allowed to sound to the hearing of the baby,no form of human language is allowed to sound to the hearing of this baby,if this baby is kept in this conditions up to 15years,this baby is sure to grow not speaking any language yet not dumb.
All languages started from the very first ancestors or couple of that indigenous people, they were the only two who existed first with that language built in them naturaly, they spread it to their descendants who lacked that attribute in them, meaning that every language originated from the first ancestor-couple of such people, this also means that all humans never shared one ancestor-couple instead different ancestors existed at different times each with their own language,if all human share just one ancestor-couple then all humans would share just one language too.
Why is the igbos more in number than the igalas or the tivs, this actually mean that the ancestor-couple of the igbos existed before that of the igalas and started procreation long before the ancestor-couple of the igalas existed to procreate so that is why an indigenous people are greater than others in terms of numbers.
The whole world never existed from just one couple

The final reasons why I support ipob is that the pilots of ipob are conscious people who have know the truth,if mr kanu at the earliest stages of the movement could speak against religion without the fear of loosing supporters I don't think there is ever a condition he will be afraid of,the existence of ipob has led to the emancipation of thousands if not millions, our people are waking up at a very speedy rate on daily basis,am very happy for all that ipob has done for me mentally, physically and spiritually and I promise to continue to obey every oder that comes from ipob till the day we succeed and beyond till day I will die, I used to dream of traveling abroad to live my life but since I met mr kanu that dream has suddenly died out of me,i now féèl like making my place more beautiful than london so that others will dream of coming to live in it,ipob I will never fail you,i love you all

during the creation of nigeria, brothers were separated, cats and dogs were forced to unite, the continue existence of such thing as nigeria will continue to foster a modern form of colonization and slavery,it will encouraged the encroachment of western cultures, ideologies and languages at the detriment of local cultures, ideologies and languages as english and french are the only two languages accepted in schools and other public places, the system cannever work and has never worked as the colonists continue to colonize indirectly, for this reasons I declare my support for ipob in the quest for biafra, more reasons are to be known in my next post

My name MMIRI,i have lived in porthacourt in the late 90s,i lived in nnokwa anambra state in the early 2000s,in 2002 I moved to the north yobe state,in 2009 i fled back to the east Onitcha,I have also lived in enugu,am not rich but am not poor either,am in my mid 20s.
During these years I spent in this country,I have seen so many evil,I have seen the police shoot armless civilians,i have seen the army humiliate innocent civilians,I have seen heavy auto-accidents caused by bad roads,i have seen people die in hospitals due to lack of finance, innocent youths rot in prisons awaiting trials that may never come, injustice in the assumed house of justice, graduates spend years without jobs,i have seen brothers sell their inheritance such as land to travel abroad some of them never make it back alive, government take people's lands without compensation, while I was in the north I witnessed the killing of the igbos, not once but several,i have also seen their businesses burnt to the ground in lagos, too much hate against this very people infact I can't say all I have seen.
For these reasons I declared my support to ipob in the quest for another country, called biafra, more of the reasons why I joined ipob will be unveiled in my next post
