Buhari's 2017 Budget Shows Hatred For Education - ASUU

Reacting to President Buhari’s budget statement that no provision was made for Joint Venture, JV, cash calls from January, 2017, Chambers Oyibo, former Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, said it is in line with what the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, earlier stated about having alternative funding.

Oyibo, who is also Chairman, Prime Energy Resources Limited, said: “It is in line with what the Minister of State said earlier that there should be alternative means of funding in the sector. In fact, he talked about having incremental production agreement with the international oil companies, IOCs. The idea is to fast-tract the funding mechanism such that it does not have to go through the National Assembly for approval.

“As regards predicating the budget on oil price of $42.5 per dollar, I think it is realistic, based on the agreement reached between OPEC and non-OPEC members recently,” he added.

Dolapo Oni, Head Energy Research, Ecobank Development Company Limited, believes that the signing of the agreement with the IOCs, will ensure that Nigeria has no more cash call liabilities. According to him, “there’s a small payment that’s meant to be made first, I believe that must have been included in the budget to ensure the deal goes on. However, I believe it is a good deal for Nigeria to have the JVs able to self-fund and raise capital for their businesses. However, don’t forget we could potentially find that we earn lesser from our oil as the new structure will ensure that funding of repayment and future capital expenditure have first claim on revenues unlike before when we just get all the revenues.

SECRET TRIAL: This Is My Court, Whatever I Say Happens - Justice Binta Nyako Tells Nnamdi Kanu

The trial of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPO Nnamdi Kanu took a new turn yesterday after a Federal High Court judge ruled on an application for secret trial by the Department of State Services (DSS).

After the judgement over the matter, Justice Binta Nyako, made her ruling that witnesses in the ongoing trial of Kanu would be protected behind a screen, a vexed Kanu, replying from the dock said he will not be subjected to a secret trial by the federal government.

Kanu said: “I will not be tried in the secret, this is not a Sharia court, I must be tried in an open court!” Kanu snapped back at Justice Nyako.

Continuing in anger, the IPOB leader said: “Buhari went public and he accused me in public now he wants to try me secretly, I will not accept that,” Kanu said.

"He (President Buhari) has sent his sister from Kastina state (refering to the judge) to try him, he should learn to guard his utterances," he added.

While Kanu was speaking, Justice Nyako called him to order, she also cautioned Kanu's counsel to tell his client to conduct himself in her court.

"This is my court and what I say happens, it's like coming to your house and respecting your orders," Nyako said.

But Kanu continued: “I will address this court! You cannot be killing my people and tell me that you will make me have a secret trial. That won’t happen! The president can intimidate the judges, but he cannot do that to me. Tell him he has lied,”

Nyako had in her ruling on Tuesday, December 13, said: "It is in law that criminal trials be conducted in open court, but however it is not strange that some circumstances can warrant the concealing of witnesses."

Nyako also advise parties involved - counsels and defendants - to choose a date for a test run on the screening process.

She said: "I will want all of you to choose a date for us to practice how the screening will be conducted, so that you will not be taken unaware on the process."

However, shortly after her ruling the court room was filled with Biafra agitators mostly dressed in Jewish robes.

The agitators in their scores chanted: “No secret trial” inside the court room.

The chants continued outside, with prison and police officer making calls for reinforcement.

Shortly after the calls, a huge police van with hundreds of police officer arrived the court premises and guarded with masked DSS officials Kanu and his fellow accused persons were driven out of the court in a prison van.

BREAKING; Nnamdi Kanu Tops List As Human Rights Group Names 3 Igbo Distinguished Personalities of 2016

South-East Based Coalition of Human Rights Organizations, SBCHROs, has named detained Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as one of the three Igbo distinguished personalities of the year 2016.

SBCHROs also named Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Deputy Senate President, as the second and third Igbo distinguished personalities of the year.

Their names were contained in a statement issued by the group during the 68th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights held recently in Onitsha, Anambra State.

In the statement, leader of the groups, Comrade Emeka Umeagbalasi said Kanu, in addition to the prestigious Prisoner-of-Conscience, PoC Award already bestowed on him, deserved to be an Igbo personality of the year in recognition of his non-violence and peaceful campaign for the emancipation of the Igbo race, using non-violence and peaceful means.

The group stated that while some states incurred over N500 billion debts, Anambra State, under Peter Obi, reduced its previous local and foreign debt to N11 billion and refused to borrow.

The group noted that Ekweremadu was chosen as the third Igbo distinguished personality of the year 2016 on account of his bold and courageous disposition against all odds, since June 2015 in his capacity as the Deputy Senate President and highest Igbo federal lawmaker.

“He towered and withstood executive persecution and leprous treatment simply because he came from a federal opposition party and insisted that the Igbo race is too important in the Nigerian political landscape to be left out in the sharing of the principal leadership positions of the 8th National Assembly of Nigeria.

“He has also made an imprint in the defence of Igbo interests, in spite of threats and blackmails from the executive arm since June, 2015.

“Ekweremadu’s position as it affects the collective interests of the Igbo race, particularly against the killings of innocent and defenceless Igbo citizens by security forces is very encouraging and endearing.”

As A Young Military Officer, I Never Had Time To Go To School - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday recalled with nostalgia his days in the Nigerian Army, saying that they were characterized by war, coups and counter-coups.

He said that as a young military officer, there was no time for academic pursuits.

He therefore commended the leadership of the present Nigerian military for the intellectual transformation of the officer corps.

The president who spoke at a ceremony for the decoration of two senior officers, Air- Vice Marshal Sadiq Ismaila Kaita, the Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) and Colonel Mohammed Lawal Abubakar, his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), working closely with him at the State House said that modern armies required superiority of intellect and imagination to achieve victory in warfare.

He expressed happiness that newly-promoted officers had acquired a “dazzling array of university degrees”

The president however, urged all officers to ensuree the translation of academic achievements to performance in the field and other places of assignment.

“I am happy with the intellectual approach of the military. In our time, there was no time for academic pursuit. It was all about war, coups and counter-coups,” he noted.

President Buhari said in times of peace and stability, military officers should use such opportunity to pursue their intellectual transformation which should go side-by-side with hardware transformation of modern armies.

The President urged officers to read History, irrespective of their academic backgrounds, describing it as an important pre-requisite for strategic learning and success in the military.

He emphasized that the good quality of the officer corps of the Nigerian Military called for good performance.

President Buhari congratulated both officers on their various achievements in their services and urged them to always be mindful of the welfare of those placed under their command.

Both Air Vice-Marshal Kaita and Colonel Abubakar have, prior to their current assignments, served the country in peace-keeping missions abroad and are married with families.

BREAKING: How Justice Binta Nyako Allegedly Received N500m From Buhari To Jail Nnamdi Kanu

* FG's plot to use a familiar technology to testify against the IPOB leader uncovered...

There are allegations that Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja who is presiding over the case of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and other defendants facing 11-count charge of treasonable felony received a total sum of Five Hundred Million Naira (N500m) to jail the pro-Biafra leader using secret trial as a commencement point.

A source who would not want to be mentioned on print went on to allege that FG wants to use a familiar technology to testify falsely against Kanu behind the scene.

The source's statement reads: "The federal government wants to use a familiar technology which is being used to adulterate and record a human voice in a machine, even when another person speaks into the machine with its micro-phone, it will sound like the same voice that was already recorded into the machine."

They source went ahead to say: "They want to get the voice of any follower of Nnamdi Kanu, maybe through a telephone conversation or from Radio Biafra and they will record it into the Voice Machine so that when the false witness speaks from the screen, it will automatically adopt the voice of a follower of Nnamdi Kanu."

Trump Must Act Fast To Prevent United States' Culpability In The Second Genocide Of Biafrans - Israel Rising

Culled from Israel Rising....

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPO can authoritatively confirm that the outgoing Obama Administration of the United States of America have completed plans to deploy to Biafraland, five hundred (50 units of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) popularly called “Drones” with a view to using them to bomb and massacre Biafrans under the guise of helping the murderous Muhammadu Buhari’s regime to stop pipeline vandalism.

The deployment and bombings was supposed to have started about six months ago but was put on hold because of the possible negative impact on the chances of Mrs. Hillary Clinton on the presidential election. A new date of 1st of June 2017 was later agreed as the commencement for the bombing of Biafraland because Mr. Obama was confident that Mrs. Clinton will surely win the election.

Fortunately for the Biafrans, Mrs. Clinton lost the election, and Mr. Donald J. Trump won. As IPOB congratulate Mr. Trump on his well-deserved victory, we call upon him to cancel this scheduled mass-murder of Biafrans. The reason why Mr. Trump must cancel the deployment of Drones that would be used to kill Biafrans is that it goes against the Leahy Law. Just like INTERSOCIETY noted in their press statement, “the Leahy Law is a U.S. human rights law that prohibits the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense from providing military assistance to foreign military units that violate human rights with impunity.” It is on record that Muhammadu Buhari has extra-judicially murdered over five thousand innocent and unarmed Nigerians within one year of becoming the president and most of those killed were Biafrans.

Instead of Mr. Trump continuing with Obama’s plan to deploy Drones to exterminate Biafrans, we strongly recommend that the new President insists on Buhari obeying the rule of law and that he should practice true constitutional democracy devoid of ethnoreligious bigotry and genocidal tendencies. Mr. Trump must demand from Mr. Buhari that he respects the inalienable and irreducible rights of Indigenous People to self-determination as enshrined in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP). Also, Mr. Trump should tell Buhari to ensure that those who perpetrated heinous crimes, and regime atrocities must be brought to book.

In particular, we re-echo the words of INTERSOCIETY which state as follows: “Total policy reversal on the part of the Buhari Administration; particularly in the areas of regime image and communications (i.e. moving away from regime falsehood, deceit and propaganda); trade and investment; human rights, rule of law, good governance, security and criminal justice administration. Such policy reversal must include unconditional release of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and all other political detainees as well as de-criminalization and de-stigmatization of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Islamic Movement of Nigeria and their lawful activities. It must also include bringing to domestic or international justice those involved in various regime atrocities such as killing of over 800 unarmed and innocent members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) and over 250 unarmed and innocent members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPO and other Pro-Biafra campaigners as well as over 300 wounded Pro-Biafra campaigners and hundreds of members of IMN also wounded by the Nigerian Army. High profile regime atrocities’ perpetrators like Lt Gen Turkur Buratai, Retired IGP Solomon Arase and their then sub-commanders must particularly be brought to justice.”

To recap, IPOB hereby urge President-elect, Mr. Donald. J Trump, to distance himself and his Administration from the planned deployment of five hundred Drones to Biafraland which would be used to commit genocide. Rather, Mr. Trump should work assiduously towards the restoration of the nation of Biafra.

Finally, we state without equivocation that the restoration of the nation of Biafra shall have three irreversible impacts on the United States of America and these are:

Reduction of unemployment rate in the USA by a minimum of 2% for the next ten years because of massive rehabilitation projects that will take place in Biafra which requires American expertise,

Isolation of terrorist operations to the Northern region of Nigeria because Biafra is a terrorist-free nation,

The safest place for any American outside of their homeland USA will be in Biafra.

President-elect Donald Trump and the entire United States citizens shall have everything to gain from a free and independent nation of Biafra.

BREAKING: Erdogan calls Putin, pleads for Jihadis to be allowed to leave Aleppo
Alexander Mercouris

Turkish President Erdogan makes late night call to Russian President Putin in desperate last bid effort to get Jihadis extracted from Aleppo.

15 Share on Facebook Twitter

Turkish President Erdogan called Russian President Vladimir Putin late in the evening on Wednesday 14th December 2016 in what looks like a desperate last minute plea by the Turkish leader to try to get the withdrawal of Jihadis from eastern Aleppo restarted.

That the two leaders discussed the situation in Aleppo is clear from the Kremlin’s report of their conversation

“The heads of state continued their ongoing exchange of views on Syria. In particular, they discussed the developments in Aleppo, and emphasised the need to build up joint efforts to improve the humanitarian situation and foster the start of a real political process in Syria.’

Shortly after this conversation took place reports drawing on Jihadi sources began to circulate in the Western media that the plan for the Jihadis to withdraw from eastern Aleppo is back on track, and that the withdrawal will happen shortly.

There has been no confirmation of this however from Moscow or Damascus. As I said earlier, experience has taught me to assume no agreement supposedly made by Russia until Moscow confirms it.

What is different this time is that Erdogan has now come out into the open as the true broker of the deal, and is no longer hiding behind Turkish intelligence.

Past experience has taught Erdogan the price of not keeping a promise to Putin. If he is promising that this time the Jihadis really will leave Aleppo, then he is once again putting his credit with Putin on the line.

Given his past dealings with Erdogan it is doubtful that Putin places much weight on what Erdogan tells him. Putin must also have doubts as to what influence over the Al-Qaeda led Jihadis in eastern Aleppo Erdogan really has.

Most likely there will be another brief draw down in the fighting of a few hours – though this will be a lot less than a ceasefire – to see whether the Jihadis do actually agree to leave as Erdogan promises.

With the Jihadis having lost more ground over the course of the day, and with their situation becoming more desperate by the hour, Putin probably calculates he has nothing to lose by giving Erdogan another chance.
