That’s exactly what Donald Trump is doing. The president-elect has said repeatedly that the U.S. needs to ban all oil imports from Saudi Arabia.

During his campaign Trump vowed to secure U.S. energy independence from “our foes and the oil cartels,” and predictably the Saudis, major donors to the Clinton campaign, aren’t happy with the way things are going.

On Wednesday Saudi oil minister Khalid Al-Falih warned Trump that banning Saudi oil could “seriously damage” the U.S. economy. “At his heart President-elect Trump will see the benefits and I think the oil industry will also be advising him accordingly that blocking trade in any product is not healthy,” Saudi Energy Minister and Aramco chairman Khalid Al-Falih told the Financial Times.

But the Saudi energy minister’s threats of serious damage to the American economy don’t add up. When it comes to oil production in 2016, the U.S. is right behind Saudi Arabia. There is simply no need for the U.S. to import oil and prop up a repressive regime that was exposed by WikiLeaks as providers of “financial and logistical support” for ISIS.

The Saudi oil minister’s threats of economic damage to the U.S. were further undermined yesterday when the U.S. Geological Survey announced that a deposit in West Texas is the largest continuous oil and gas deposit ever discovered in the United States.

On Tuesday, the USGS announced that an area known as the Wolfcamp shale contains 20 billion barrels of oil and 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. That is nearly three times more petroleum than the agency found in North Dakota’s Bakken shale in 2013.

As NPR’s Jeff Brady reported, the amount of oil in the Wolfcamp shale formation is nearly three times the amount of petroleum products used by the entire country in a year.

Trump’s plans for complete energy independence are achievable and will be a major boost to the U.S. economy. The only economy that will be “seriously damaged” belongs to the Saudis.

The idea that cannabis kills cancer cells seems to no longer be a conspiracy theory in the United States. With this information, can any state legitimately say no to medicinal marijuana?

Or could it even be considered a preventative herb to avoid getting cancer?

Amy Willis with Metro says that the US government has added a page on the use of cannabis and cannabinoids to their official cancer advice website.

Willis advises, “The National Cancer Institute, part of the US Department of Health, now advises that ‘cannabinoids may be useful in treating the side effects of cancer and cancer treatment’ by smoking, eating it in baked products, drinking herbal teas or even spraying it under the tongue.”

The official government site has a long list of medicinal uses of cannabis, including: Anti-inflammatory activity, pain relief, anti-anxiety, stress relief, anti-tumor, antiviral activity and relieving muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis, and many many more.

The site goes on to talk about how cannabis has been proven to destroy cancer cells in lab experiments.

Willis continues, “Several scientific studies have suggested this in the past, and in April this year the US government’s National Institute on Drug Abuse revised their publications to suggest cannabis could shrink brain tumors by killing off cancer cells.”

If the United States government is finally willing to admit these benefits and that cannabis has been proven to kill cancer cells, then will other western nations follow suit?

Although the science is no fairy tale, to the dismay of business owners, the process is not as productive as they might hope – burning a ton of coal yields one gram of gold, tops.

At present, the scientists are setting the bar even lower, expecting a yield of 0.5 grams, or 1,500 rubles, per ton.

“We burn a ton – we gain 1,500 rubles,” Oleg Ageev, CEO of Complex Innovative Technologies of the Amur Scientific Center, said in a press statement.

At current exchange rates, that is roughly $23 US dollars.

The discovery of gold lacing in coal is the result of 15 years of study from different fields.

To create the gold, smoke created in burning coal goes through a hundred-fold purifying system. The residue is then flushed through a filter with water, allowing a gold concentrate to be extracted that is later used to make the precious metal.

The scientists are planning to test the gold-making equipment in one of the Amur region’s boiler houses next year, and ultimately hope to receive a grant to develop and implement an industrial grade device.

“We plan to use municipal boiler houses to implement our filtering system because they burn about eight to 10 thousand tons in a season, and that’s potentially 10 kilos of gold.”

The whole operation is on hold until spring kicks in because of subzero temperatures. Part of the process takes place outside and the water used for filtering freezes up.

Buhari brought Hamid Ali from outside the customs to head
the Nigerian Custom Service. {Do to know what
businessmen who are mostly southerners go through to
clear their goods with Custom? Do you know how many
customs check points you will see from Lagos to Onitsha
for example? Do custom officials stay on the road or the

Amina Zakari to head INEC before replacing her with
another loyal kinsman, Yakubu Mahmud. This is thesame
reasons he made sure most of his appointments are filled

mostly from the south on allegation of corruption only to
come out to defend the army chief, Tukur-Buratai, his fellow

years for a southerner to smell the position of the chief of

security meeting were to hold today, it would be with Buhari
and his fellow Hausa/Fulani Muslims alone..... in a multi-
ethnic, multi-religious country like Nigeria. And you think
Buhari doesn't know what he is doing?? You think we don't
have serious reasons to feel uncomfortable?? You still think
he is dumb and brainless?
You think Buhari's refusal to clampdown on his murderous
kinsmen, the Fulani herdsmen adjudged as the 4th deadliest
terror group in the world is a mistake?? Buhari rolled out the

A Georgia state legislator has introduced legislation that would ban burqas and traditional Muslim veils.

State Rep. Jason Spencer (R) filed legislation on Wednesday that would prevent women from posing for driver’s license photos while wearing a veil. The measure also adds burqas to a law that makes it a misdemeanor to wear a face covering in public or while driving.

Spencer argues that this bill is specifically intended to reduce fear about Islamic terrorism. Spencer’s bill would prevent women from wearing head coverings while driving or while walking down a public sidewalk.

Many people will immediately read this and argue that the First Amendment allows for protection of religious freedoms, and that is a true and correct argument. Our Constitution does allow all citizens to practice whatever religion they choose.

Here is the problem: Islam is not a religion. It is a cancerous disease that calls for all Christians, women, and homosexuals to be brutally murdered for the false god Allah. A vast majority of terrorist attacks are carried out in the name of Allah. When was the last time we experienced a terrorist attack from someone citing the Bible?

Protests started in October, when a group of English speaking lawyers took to the streets of Bamenda city, capital of the Northwest Region, to protest against the use of French in courts and the lack of English versions of some legal acts and codes.

The demonstrators also said they would create a new bar for English-speaking lawyers only.

Protests continued throughout November with lawyers striking in both the Northwest and Southwest, the two English-speaking regions of Cameroon, inhabited by some 3.2 million people.

The two regions constitute the so-called "Southern Cameroons" territory, a British protectorate during colonisation.

Earlier this month, Bobga Harmony, president of Association Lawyers of Northwest Cameroon, told the BBC the Cameroonian police allegedly "used tear gas to disperse" the lawyers.

The alleged police reaction sparked further demonstrations in anglophone Cameroon, with people calling for independence.

Reasons behind independence calls

"This is not an issue that began with the lawyer protest in October, but it started in 1961, when the Southern Cameroons territories were annexed to modern-day Cameroon," Ngu Tatih, from the Ambazonia Governing Council, told IBTimes UK. Ambazonia is a term used to identify the movement that seeks the restoration of Southern Cameroons.

Southern Cameroons and independence calls

Southern Cameroons was the southern part of the British Mandate territory of Cameroons during the colonization.

In 1961, people of Cameroon voted whether to join Nigeria or the Republic of Cameroon, which had already obtained independence from Britain and France one year earlier.

The vote resulted in Southern Cameroons becoming part of the French speaking Republic of Cameroun.

In 1972, a new constitution was adopted in Cameroon, replacing the federal state with a unitary state.

The "Cameroon Anglophone Movement" was created in 1984. People originally sought a return to a federal system, but eventually started calling for independence.

More on possible alliance between Southern Cameroons and pro-Biafrans.

Pro-independence groups argue that the UN Resolution 1608, passed in April 1961, was not implemented.

The document required the UK, Southern Cameroons and Republic of Cameroon to engage in talks on measures to implement for the annexation.

"In 1961, our people were given two choices and we decided to join Cameroon and create a confederation. We did not decide to create an alien government for our people, as eventually became the case. People in Ambazonia [Southern Cameroons] are calling for independence without pre-conditions," Tatih continued.

He then alleged security forces killed three people during recent demonstrations, which he said are still ongoing and involve teacher groups but also civilians.

"We are calling on the international community to intervene on this matter, before it gets worse," he said. "This is going to spiral into something that is going to affect not only people of Ambazonia, but the sub-region as well."

A spokesperson for the country's defence ministry has declined to comment because "it is a political matter".

The Cameroonian embassy in London has not replied to a request for comment.

Pro-Active Dialogue

David Otto, counterterrorism expert at UK-based TGS Intelligence Consultants, confirmed to IBTimes UK that protests are ongoing.

He called on the Cameroonian government to start a "proactive" dialogue with protesters to address people's grievances.

"The initial skirmishes of this particular protest was about the legal framework, but protests increased and included other elements. English-speaking people say they are marginalised and claim the amalgamation of the English and the French Cameroons was unconstitutional," Otto, who is also a senior adviser for Global Risk International (GRI), said.

"The reason why this is dragging is because of how the government reacted when the protest began peacefully. If the government continues to apply force, the situation might escalate. It is similar to what happened with pro-Biafran activists," he concluded, referring to the ongoing pro-independence movement that seeks the independence of Biafran territories from Nigeria.

President-elect Donald Trump will not pursue an investigation into Hillary Clinton, NBC are reporting. During his election campaign Trump promised to set up an inquiry into Clinton’s alleged criminal activity.

Host Joe Scarborough made the announcement on NBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ on Tuesday. A show source, described as having "direct knowledge of Donald Trump's thinking," quoted Trump as saying Clinton had “been through enough.”

When asked about the remarks, Trump's former campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, said that by making such a decision before his inauguration, "it sends a very strong message, tone, and content."

"I think he's thinking of many different things as he prepares to become the President of the United States, and things that sound like the campaign are not among them," Conway said.

Conway also told the show that Clinton "still has to face the fact that a majority of Americans don't find her to be honest or trustworthy," but that "if Donald Trump can help her heal, then perhaps that's a good thing to do."

Regarding the Clinton email scandal, Trump had previously said he would instruct the attorney general to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the issue if elected. This attitude appeared to ease since his election with Trump praising his opponent on ‘60 Minutes’.

Of Clinton’s phone call to concede defeat on election night, Trump said: “She couldn’t have been nicer. She just said, ‘congratulations, Donald. Well done.’ And I said, ‘I want to thank you very much, you were a great competitor.’ She is very strong. And very smart.”

During his campaign he had called Clinton a “nasty woman” with “tremendous hate in her heart.” Allegations of criminal activity relating to her use of a private email server were central to his attacks on her.
