Goodbye Petrodollar: Russia Accepts Yuan, Is Now China's Biggest Oil Partner

Russia reaps the rewards of dumping the dollar

Saudi Arabia's share of Chinese oil imports at the beginning of the decade was about 20%, while Russia's was below 7%. Not anymore.

Russia is now the top crude exporter to China, the largest (or second largest, depending on whom you ask) oil demand growth country in the world.

At the start of the decade, Saudi Arabia enjoyed a 20% share of Chinese crude imports, while Russia was lagging far behind with 7%. Now the Saudis find themselves neck and neck with Moscow for the lead in Chinese market share, with both performing in the 13-16% range. But Russia's share continues to rise, as The Kingdom struggles to maintain a foothold.

Why? Analysts attribute Russia's huge market share growth to its willingness to accept yuan, while Saudi Arabia is still clinging to blood-soaked dollars. As Business Insider notes:

Interestingly, part of Russia's success in China has been attributed to its willingness to accept Chinese yuan denominated currency for its oil.

This is consistent with earlier forecasts about Russia's market share in China. Bloomberg reported back in July:

“Following Russia’s recent acceptance of the renminbi as payments for oil, we expect more record high oil imports ahead to China,” Gordon Kwan, the Hong Kong-based head of regional oil and gas research at Nomura Holdings Inc., said in an e-mail, referring to the Chinese currency. “If Saudi Arabia wants to recapture its number one ranking, it needs to accept the renminbi for oil payments instead of just the dollar.”

As both the head of the Eurasian Economic Union (and founding member of BRICS), as well as a major energy exporter, Russia is leading the charge against the dollar. And now other nations are following suit: Iran and India announced last month that they intend to settle all outstanding crude oil payments in rupees, as part of a joint strategy to dump the dollar and trade instead in national currencies.

The dollar is slowly losing its privileged place in international transactions. What this means for the United States is anyone's guess.

BREAKING!!! Tension: Buhari to Storm Niger Delta on Tuesday; Avengers Spit Fire

As part of efforts to stop militant activities in the Niger Delta and attacks on oil installations, Pres. Buhari will on Tuesday November 1st visit the region where he is scheduled to meet with stakeholders and leaders from the region. His visit is prelude to the launch of a $10 billion infrastructure rebirth investment programme for the region.

The President had in June canceled a similar visit to the Region following threats of assassination by the Militants.

Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, who revealed President Buhari’s scheduled visit to the region, saidbuhari-militants

“On Tuesday, President Buhari in his Kind nature will have a meeting with the Niger Delta stakeholders. About 50 of them are going to be coming to that meeting. and it comprises all the kings drawn from all the oil producing states”he said

Meanwhile, Militant group, Niger Delta Avengers says it will resume bombing of oil facilities if government made any further mistake to enter into negotiation with selfish leaders in the region.

The Avengers in a statement warned that any attempt by the government to engage in any form of dialogue with Niger Delta leaders who had allegedly hijacked the commonwealth of the people for their selfish interest, would be resisted.

This came as Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) endorsed the October 31 meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, aimed at finding solutions to the current Niger Delta crisis.

According to the group’s spokesman Col. Rightman Hudson Opukurowari, he said: “Since we had agreed to suspend bombing oil facilities and enter into genuine dialogue with the government, the administration has not shown any seriousness in talking to the right set of people to move the peace process forward. Two months after the ceasefire, it has become clear to the world that this government has not been sincere and serious in meeting the simple demands of the people to put in place a concrete plan of transforming the landscape and giving us any sense of hope despite our critical contribution to the commonwealth of the nation.

“From the way the government is going after we had suspended bombings, it is clear to the world that the Federal Government is not ready to make peace with us as earlier promised and we are under pressure to resume our attacks. It is obvious that the Muhammadu Buhari administration has rather chosen to be nonchalant to the dialogue and has deliberately decided to invite only their political friends for a dinner in the name of dialogue, by their own selective measures, thereby ignoring the chance for real peace and dialogue with the appropriate persons and groups.

“The Government is trying to avoid a holistic approach to addressing the real issues affecting us and finding solutions to them but merely taking time off to engage those we see as “Niger Delta Vultures” sitting in Abuja with their sponsors, taking credit for our genuine agitations. We have
watched and observed that with the body language of the President and the composition of the so-called dialogue group, no meaningful solution will be proffered unless the government invites all concerned and genuine individuals and groups for the purpose of finding a lasting solution to the crisis in the region.

“We hereby warn that any action taken by the government to provoke us to resume hostilities would be more brutal than before until we enter the promised land. “We are concerned because these same persons invited for the scheduled dialogue have become Federal Government dialogue contractors and they do not represent the interest of the generality of the people.”

Supporting dialogue between government and militants, MEND, in a statement by its spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo, said: “The forthcoming meeting vindicates MEND and Federal Government’s continued insistence and belief, ab initio, that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari meant well for the sustainable peace and development of the hitherto neglected Niger Delta region.

MEND reiterates that we were the first and only militant group in the Niger Delta region who were meaningfully and constructively engaged in talks with the Federal Government with a view to resolving the Niger Delta crisis.

The group, among others, said: “We urge members of the Chief Edwin Clark-led PANDEF to put aside personal interests and ambitions of primitive aggrandizement. Rather, we implore them to realize that the Niger Delta region is at a zebra crossing and, therefore, they must remain steadfast and focused on their core mandate, to wit: restoration of sustainable and permanent peace and development of the region.”

However, the UCC in a statement, said: “We, the Urhobo people, reject completely the list of the Central Working Committee (CWC) Chief E.K Clark forwarded to the presidency as representatives of South-South ethnic nationalities. The list forwarded to the Nigeria President does not represent the true population of the ethnic nationalities in the South-South, and furthermore, the membership of the committee did not take into consideration the economic contribution of the various ethnic nationalities to common national purse.”

Recall that NDA had attacked President Muhammadu Buhari over his leadership style. The group said President Buhari is playing tribal politics.

Waw! Biafra is on stopable.

Biafra: Mark Zuckerberg Collaborates with Buhari to Exterminate Biafrans: Shuts down Radio Biafra London Facebook Group

Friday 28 October, 2016

The materialization of the recent trip embarked upon by the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg in Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja where he went into a discreet meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari has just surfaced as the former ordered the shut down of Radio Biafra Group on Facebook including personal accounts of certified IPOB principal officers.

Mark Zuckerberg who visited Nigeria not quite too long ago is believed to have gone into secret collaboration with the Nigerian government to scuttle the ever-rising Radio Biafra Facebook Group which many people has come to embrace as their prompt news forum.

The group, Radio Biafra London, is the fastest rising and largest contributory forum on Facebook with huge amount of followers joining the group everyday to get themselves handy with trending news as regards the Biafran restoration project as championed by IPOB.

Many a times, Facebook accounts of IPOB principal officers are often taken down, being withdrawn or denied access to them by Facebook.

Recently, some principle officers private account was again shut down by Facebook. These IPOB principal officers includes the the Deputy leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Alphonsus Uche Okafor-Mefor, Spokesperson and Coordinator of all Coordinators, Mazi Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanyi, IPOB’s media director, Carol Munday and others.

We have seen the evil connivance of the Facebook CEO, Mr. Zuckerberg who recently professes love for the Hausa-speaking community by including their language on Facebook, in trying to block the in flow of messages and gospel of truth concerning the Biafra restoration project.

This evil collaboration of Facebook agents and their Hausa/Fulani Islamic acquaintances, is the more reason why Biafrans must utilize other social media platforms such as Twitter, Nkoli.com, to continue to propagate the message for the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra and not limit themselves to Facebook alone.

Zuckerberg through his actions has proven that the whites are not free from corruption and corrupt practices as one wonders the huge amount of money wired into his Bank account by the evil Islamic Nigerian government to engage in this shady dealings.

In the past, the Islamic Nigerian government had also collaborated with Google agents to wipe off news exposing their injustices and evil dealings from the internet, but IPOB came out from that stronger as they failed woefully like packs of cards in that plan, the same fate will befall on Zuckerberg and his conspirators as the movement for the restoration of Biafra is unstoppable and unquenchable.

Metro Nigerian Cattle Dealers Threaten To Embark on Indefinite Strike

Discussion in 'Metro News' started by kemi, Yesterday at 12:11 PM.

The Amalgamated Union of National Cattle and Foodstuff Dealers Association of Nigeria has threatened to embark on indefinite strike over alleged extortion by security agents across the country.

The Acting National Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Hamman-Jalo Hamman-Jam, said in Mubi, Adamawa, on Thursday, that the union was tired of the situation.

According to him, members of the union were made to part with money at various security check points on major federal highways especially from the northern to eastern part of the country.

He claimed that security agents forcefully stop any truck conveying cattle from the North to the East and demand huge amount of money for unknown purposes.

“We have complained to appropriate authorities concerned over the high level of extortion of money from our members by security agents.

“Again, we, the Amalgamated Union of National Cattle and Foodstuff Dealers Association of Nigeria, hereby, call on the Federal, state governments, and other authorities concerned to urgently look into the matter and address it.

“And if the situation continues without any action from government, the union have no other choice rather to embark on indefinite strike,” Hamman-Jam said.

The chairman claimed that the dealers were made to part with between N250, 000 to N300, 000 per truck on every trip.
